In July 1995 we spent eight days biking around Connemara on the west coast of Ireland. Our self-guided trip was organized by CycleWest, a small Irish company (www.cyclewest.com). Although it was July, the weather only acted like summer about half the time, and we spent some days decked out in full rain gear with fleece underneath. There's a reason Ireland is green. But the days that were sunny were just glorious, and scenery in Connemara was magnificent. Combine that with little traffic on scenic small roads, and it was a great biking destination. Provided you're prepared for the weather.
