Prepping the Car |
We drove across the country leaving Prague at 7 a.m. to arrive in Zlin in the eastern part of the Czech Republic in time to join the procession of cars driving to the wedding. One of the traditions appeared to be to have a doll dressed up as a bride on the hood of the car carrying the actual bride.
The ceremony, which was in a beautiful chateau in the middle of a zoo, was a civil one. Difficult to comment on the content as it was all in Czech. Unfortunately it was pouring at the time, so the walk through the zoo was less than scenic.

Sharing some cake |
The reception was at a hotel and went on for many hours, encompassing many meals, music and dancing, and vast quantities of alcohol, including the lethal slivovitz. A good time was had by all.

Back in the Wine Cellar |
The next day we drove back to Cejkovice, where our bike trip had started, and spent one more night in our Knights Templar Fortress Hotel, and had another meal in the wine cellar
with some cyclists that we met at the hotel who were just starting out their own Czech adventure. Then it was back to Vienna and homeward.
We booked our bike trip through
Europe Express, but you can also go directly to the site of the tour operator, which is
Romantic Czech Tours.
